JNR

The JNR system monitor is designed as the central controller for the IKON AVS fault detecting system intended to monitor life safety critical public address systems. Whilst similar to SID in operation it is intended for smaller systems.

JNR

Due to the systems flexibility and fault tolerance it may be used to monitor and report the operational status of:-

Individual speaker stacks during live audio.

Signal level audio distribution systems.

Any system that provides digital status or voltage outputs.

JNR monitors up to 30 outlying fault detection devices, these can be any combination of the following IKON AVS units:-

  ECM.
Eight-channel speaker line monitor.
  DRS.
Digital interface, which monitors the state of 24 digital inputs.

All communications between the fault detectors and JNR use a proprietary fault tolerant dual fibre network. Both fibre loops are continuously monitored to ensure their integrity and if a fibre fault is detected, JNR will log the faults identifying where in the network the failure has occurred. Due to the networks inherent fault tolerance, partial systems can be operated during installation.

A comprehensive array of LED’s and displays are used to confirm the systems operation as well as providing a local indication of fault occurrence, printer fault or network problems. The 2 line, 16 character LCD display is used to display the event no. complete with a time and date stamp as well as  a short textual description of the fault and originating unit.

A system can support two JNR’s in a Master / Slave configuration.

System Interconnections

Transmit
Twin ( Primary & Secondary ) ST fibre connectors for the outgoing fibre connections to other elements of the system. The system is software configurable for single or dual fibre operation.
Receive
Twin ( Primary & Secondary ) ST fibre connectors for the incoming fibre connections from other elements of the system. The system is software configurable for single or dual fibre operation with correct operation verified and reported.
Serial
Provides serial event messages to third party logging equipment
Event Relay
A change over relay that can be configured to provide a change in status on the detection of a fault only or on any change in fault status. This output is suitable for linking to an external sounder.
Printer Out
For connection to a dot matrix or inkjet printer for printing of fault reports with a time and date stamp.
Program
With the socket provided on both the front and rear panel, a laptop computer can be
connected to this port for configured the SID and also for downloading fault logs that include a time and date stamp.

Software

A Windows based software utility is supplied for configuring not only the JNR but also all the network devices on the fault monitoring system. Each network unit is given a unique ID and name with these reported to JNR. Each fault status on the remote units is also named and stored within JNR for display on the LCD screen and printing.
